My favorite pastime is riding my bicycle outside in the Arizona sunshine. There are miles and miles of bike paths in Scottsdale from McCormick Ranch all the way to Tempe Town Lake. I feel like I am on a Scottsdale Arizona vacation even though I have lived here for many years. The paths take you along golf courses, parks and lakes. You don’t have to worry about cars or traffic because most of the paths are not on a street. There are people biking, jogging, walking, feeding the ducks, and just enjoying their day.  It is a lot of fun to stop at the dog park near Chaparral Park and watch all the people and their dogs.  There are tunnels that go under the busy streets and intersections. You ride by a lot of Arizona home rentals and condo vacation rentals in Scottsdale. It is so much fun to see all the people enjoying their Scottsdale Arizona vacations. It is so incredible to see the happy faces of the bike riders that you pass on the path. It reminds me of the fun you had as a kid riding your bike at the park. It makes you really appreciate the fantastic weather and beautiful scenery that we enjoy here in Scottsdale.

If you are planning on bringing your pet with you on your Scottsdale Arizona vacation, I have a word of caution for you. I live in North Scottsdale and some of the nicest rentals in Arizona are in the North Scottsdale and Cave Creek areas. There is a lot of beauty in the Sonoran Desert and lots of wildlife to enjoy and view. 

I have two 15 lb. Bichon Frise dogs that I adore and they enjoy my yard and running in and out of the doggy door. They are used to a lot of freedom and fresh air year round. The day after Thanksgiving I overheard one of my dogs barking loudly. I leisurely walked outside to be face to face with a large Bobcat staring at my dog. I was so stunned that I let out a blood-curdling scream that could be heard throughout the neighborhood and probably around the world. It turned around and fled over my 6-foot fence in terror thank goodness. This was not the first time this particular dog had a life threatening confrontation in my yard. Two years prior to this a coyote attacked her. After hours of surgery and 9 stitches she survived. She is very fortunate to still be around. I will not let the dogs out again without someone with them.

My point to this story is to warn anyone who has a rental in Arizona; especially a Scottsdale or Cave Creek rental to be very diligent with their pets and never let them outside alone. The desert is a wonderful place but it is filled with dangers for your pets.

If you are looking for a great place to enjoy a drink before dinner go to the Westin Kierland. It is a must see for anyone enjoying a Scottsdale Arizona Vacation.The outside bar area has a Bagpipe player at dusk overlooking the beautiful golf course. It is a great spot in Scottsdale to see the sunset and view some Scottsdale rentals in the distance at Kierland. There are fire-pits, a great view and the sweet sounds of the bagpipe player. It is almost like being in Scotland with the green golf course and the bagpipe music.

Today was a beautiful day in Phoenix. As a matter of fact the entire month of October and November so far have been beautiful. I love getting in my car and driving up to Cave Creek and Carefree simply to find a place to take a hike or to enjoy a simple lunch at one of the great al fresco restaurants. The days have been sunny and warm and the nights have been cool enough for a light sweater. I also love this time of year when we get all of the winter visitors that come in from all over the country. Some people are coming just for a week and others for 1-3 months at a time. Everyone is so friendly and happy to be in the warmth of Arizona. And there’s nothing better then spending 1 week or even 3 months in a cozy home away from home vacation home, with all the amenities that you could ever want.
